Placing a Hold on a Book

If the book you want is currently borrowed by someone else, you can place a hold.
- Search for the book in the Library Catalog.
- Click on the book to see its details.
- Click Place Hold.
- The system will let you know if the hold was placed successfully.
What happens next:
- When the book is returned by the current borrower, it will be set aside for you.
- You will get a notification (by email or in the system) that the book is ready for pickup.
- You usually have 3 days to pick up the book before the hold expires.
What you'll see: The hold appears in your My Holds page with its current status.
If something goes wrong:
- "Duplicate hold" -- You already have a hold on this book. Check your My Holds page.
- "You are blocked" -- You have overdue books or unpaid fines. Clear those first.
