Two-factor authentication adds extra security to your account. After setting it up, you will need both your password AND a code from your phone to log in.
- Go to your account settings.
- Click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (or go to the 2FA setup page).
- You will see a QR code on the screen.
- Open an authenticator app on your phone (like Google Authenticator or Authy).
- In the app, tap "Add Account" and scan the QR code.
- The app will start showing 6-digit codes that change every 30 seconds.
- Type the current 6-digit code into the system and click Confirm.
- The system will show you recovery codes. Write these down and keep them somewhere safe! You will need them if you ever lose your phone.
What you'll see: Next time you log in, after entering your password, you will be asked for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
If something goes wrong:
- Lost your phone -- Use one of your recovery codes to log in. Then set up 2FA again with your new phone.
- Code doesn't work -- Make sure the time on your phone is correct. Authenticator codes are time-based, so your phone's clock needs to be accurate.
